A Registered Physiotherapist since 2006, Leeanna has worked in a variety of settings including sports rehabilitation, stroke and Parkinson’s outpatient rehabilitation, post-surgical knee and hip rehabilitation, and private clinics providing quality healthcare that truly impacts the quality of her patients’ day-to-day lives. With an Honours Bachelor of Science, Specialist in Laboratory Medicine and Pathobiology from the University of Toronto, Leeanna gained invaluable clinical research experience and a unique insight into human disease and how the body works at the cellular level.
With her Master of Science in Physical Therapy from The University of Toronto, she achieved her ultimate goal of working directly with patients to optimize patient care and the quality of life for her rehabilitation patients. Her thesis for her Masters – Continuum of care from hospital based setting to an outpatient dynamic – laid the foundation for her professional career. She has continued to add to her expertise through professional development with specially focused courses in evaluation and treatment of the injured runner; lumbar spine treatment; foot biomechanics; the shoulder complex and the knee complex. Her dedication to both her patients and her continuing education enhances her understanding of patient needs and goals and ensures that she treats the whole problem by assessing the whole person. For Leeanna, the continuum of care does not stop when she stops treating. She is committed to motivating all her patients to achieve the fullest recovery possibly and prevent further injury through patient education.
